Stephens\n\n\n\nBartlett City Schools Superintendent\n\n \nDr. David Stephens has led Bartlett City Schools since its creation ten years ago. His leadership abilities are recognized statewide and in 2017 he was awarded Tennessee's 'Superintendent of the Year'. Dr. Stephens will reflect on the past ten years\, from the school systems creation and its initial challenges to its current achievements and future.  \n\n \n\nBiography: Dr. David A. Stephens is a distinguished educational leader with a lifelong commitment to the Bartlett community. He earned his Bachelor's and Doctorate degrees from the University of Memphis and his Master's degree from Trevecca Nazarene University. In 2014\, Dr. Stephens became the Director of Schools in Bartlett\, taking on the challenge of establishing a new school district from scratch. Remarkably\, he succeeded in creating the Bartlett City Schools district and a freshmen academy within just six months of his appointment.\n\nUnder Dr. Stephens' leadership\, Bartlett City Schools has grown to encompass 11 schools\, serving 9\,155 students. His deep roots in education are evidenced by his family's history of teaching in Tennessee school districts\, with his father\, grandfather\, aunt\, and uncle all having served as educators.  A lifelong resident of Bartlett\, his dedication to educational excellence and community engagement continues to drive the success and growth of Bartlett City Schools.
