He represents District 3\, encompassing all voting precincts in Bartlett and Lakeland. \n\nA native of Des Moines\, Iowa\, Commissioner Wright made Shelby County his home after earning a bachelor's degree in English from Harding University in Searcy\, Arkansas. He also holds a master's degree in public administration from Strayer University. \n\nCommissioner Wright has worked for Youth Villages since 2003. He currently serves on the leadership team for the organization's Memphis Allies initiative\, which provides intervention services to young people and adults at highest risk of involvement with gun violence. \n\nAn alum of Leadership Bartlett\, Commissioner Wright has volunteered with numerous civic groups including the Bartlett Chamber Foundation\, the Bartlett Education Foundation\, the Bartlett Education Advisory Committee\, the Bartlett Sesquicentennial Committee\, and the Bartlett First Responders Monument Committee. Commissioner Wright also formed the group Better Bartlett Schools to lead the grassroots efforts culminating in the referendum that created the Bartlett City Schools system. \n\nCommissioner Wright has previously served as a Vice Chair of the Republican Party of Shelby County and as President of the Northeast Shelby Republican Club. He was elected as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2016. \n\nMick and his wife\, Alison\, live in Bartlett. Members of the Memphis Runners Track Club and the Bartlett Runners Club\, they completed a marathon together as St. Jude Heroes and have participated in dozens of other charitable half marathons and 5Ks. They worship with Christ Community Church in Memphis.
