BACC Membership Meeting
BARTLETT'S BROTHER
Everyday thousands of people drive by the mammoth building at 7777 Brother Blvd. and recognize the Brother facility and its huge presence in Bartlett. Brother is a household name throughout Bartlett and has been a proud member of this community for 35 years. Brother has also been a major supporter of many Bartlett events and activities throughout its tenure. Yet, how many people really know what goes on inside their facility. And for that matter, what is their history.
Few people know that when Brother, HQ in Nagoya, Japan, first came to Bartlett, their primary function was manufacturing typewriters. It was not long afterwards, and over one million units later, that personal computers came onto the market and totally upended the need for typewriters. How Brother responded to that paradigm shift in office equipment is a fascinating case study.
The Brother Story, past, present and future, will be our main topic on July 12 as Steve Tuttle, Manager Director of Brother Industries, USA, presents us with an inside look at Bartlett's biggest business icon.
Join us for an informative luncheon and networking with fellow members.
