Beginning with the Class of 2015, Tennessee Promise will provide Tennessee high school graduates the opportunity to attend a community or technical college FREE of tuition and fees but many mentors are needed for only about 1 hour per month to help these students reach their potential.
The mentoring program is a crucial component that has been shown to have a significant impact on increasing the likelihood of students entering the post-secondary pipeline. tnAchieves, a partnering organization to Governor Haslam’s Tennessee Promise, designed its mentoring program so even the busiest executive, parent, or young professional could make a meaningful impact.
As of THIS morning, tnAchieves still needs:
30 more mentors for students from Bartlett High School
70 more mentors for students from Bolton High School
and mentors for all other local high schools
Each mentor’s role is simple but significant.
